Master's Academy Eagles Fall After Strong Showing By Oviedo Varsity Oviedo Varsity Lions

Master's Academy Eagles couldn't keep up with Oviedo Varsity Oviedo Varsity Lions and fell 8-1 on Thursday at Oviedo High School.

Master's Academy Eagles were the first to get on the board in the first when Ball laid down a sacrifice bunt, scoring one run.

Oviedo Varsity Oviedo Varsity Lions took the lead in the bottom of the first. Rogers doubled, scoring two runs, to give Oviedo Varsity Oviedo Varsity Lions the advantage, 2-1.

A single by Sampson extended the Oviedo Varsity Oviedo Varsity Lions lead to 3-1 in the bottom of the third inning.

Vreuls earned the win for Oviedo Varsity Oviedo Varsity Lions. The pitcher allowed zero hits and one run over six and one-third innings, striking out five and walking one. Peri took the loss for Master's Academy Eagles. The pitcher went six innings, giving up eight runs (seven earned) on seven hits, striking out nine and walking seven.

Ball led the team with one run batted in. Burkhead stole two bases. Master's Academy Eagles stole four bases in the game. Master's Academy Eagles turned one double play in the game.

Sampson and Rogers were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Oviedo Varsity Oviedo Varsity Lions. Rogers drove the middle of the lineup, leading Oviedo Varsity Oviedo Varsity Lions with three runs batted in. The center fielder went 2-for-4 on the day. Clark paced Oviedo Varsity Oviedo Varsity Lions with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game.
